So, GIMP has this cool trick where you can animate a series of images as a GIF by placing images as layers then saving as GIF and choosing to save layers as animation in the resulting dialog. Simple, and with a little practice, probably successful design.

With three pictures, you’re really selling me on GIMP. I haven’t animated a gif in a long time but I can recall having to do all the steps in Photoshop and then having to use GIF Animator. Nice to have it all in one!
Yeah, Paul! I gave up on the Adobe tax a long time ago. But I really miss Dreamweaver and Flash.
What do you use instead of Dreamweaver? I learned by hand coding, so from time to time I just use Notepad, but WYISWYG is really much easier.
I really loved Dreamweaver when I was actively developing sites because of the split code/wysiwyg view. I use Kompozer (open source) if I have to build more than a few pages because it has a built in CSS editor and site manager. However, I prefer using WordPress to publish whenever I can. It’s a great framework and CMS.
