In my office in my house, I’m still surrounded by the bottles, paraphernalia, glassware, and other memories of my time when I was actively beer blogging. I stopped blogging about beer for various reasons last year (the blog post on the topic is here) but I’m still reminded every time I sit down to work here that it was a big part of my life. In fact, the 365 sketches project was done in part to replace beer blogging with a healthier pursuit. Thanks to all of you for helping with that. I’m packing all the stuff up in the next few days, including my favorite bottle opener which I’ve depicted for you here.

    Hey John,

I had no idea about your past life. It’s all fascinating. I’m not a beer guy, but I have a friend who totally is. I’ll send him to your old site. I’m very intrigued about the losing 100 pounds deal though! Now that’s willpower. Was it all calorie counting?

I was really dedicated to the beer blog, but it was just too much. Re: 100 pounds, it was all due to calorie awareness and counting. I could do it again in a heartbeat if I could just regain the will.
