Mom always had coffee brewed and waiting on the counter, often cold. It sometimes sat for hours and hours, but she would just put about 8 ounces in a cup, microwave it for a minute and 11 seconds, and set it up with an entire scoop of hot cocoa mix, a packet of sugar substitute, and an entire scoop of non dairy creamer. I was at least 17 before I knew what coffee actually tasted like, but I drank her concoction from the age of about 10 on. Hers tastes far better, but it makes everything else in the world taste a little plain.
