So, I took on a project in which I am supposed to produce a post a day. I’m already woefully behind. But you know what? That’s okay.

I have several drafts written up and ready to be polished and published. Right now there is (thankfully) a lot going on. Tonight’s post is about my promise: I’ll finish the year with 365 posts. They may not all have original design attached, as this one does not. They may not all be particularly long or detailed. But they will all have something to do with design, technology, branding, libraries or some other aspect of my organizational brand. I promise. Thanks for keeping faith!

A basic culinary knife cuts infographic

Basic culinary knife cuts by lemasney

So, I added knife skills to my to-learn list, and I’ve done some research on the topic. Now I know what a good chef’s knife looks like, how to hold and sharpen it, and how to care for it. My next task was learning how to practice with it, and I found some great info on about.com. However, what I was looking for was an infographic with to-size images of basic cuts, which I did not find. I decided to make my own and share it here. Enjoy!

At the culinary arts site on about.com, there is a fantastic gallery of knife cuts that is a simple introduction to the art. Looking forward to practicing these.
