I caught a lot of these as a kid and released them as wishes. I only ever wished for one thing. I called them Dandelion spores, but Laura Hyatt says “They are apomictic seeds. Dandelions are higher plants.” Thanks, Laura!

So my friend Amy made me aware of a slang term that I thought was an original but that I later found in the Urban Dictionary. It describes when one manipulates through monopoly of a given person or situation. One monopulates.

I got approached yesterday to do a wordmark for a Princeton based band featuring the amazingly talented guitarist Ed Hermann. They needed some branding so that they could advertise that they are playing Communiversity in Princeton this year. I hope you get a chance to come out for lots of reasons, but this sealed it for me. So, this is some branding for a Bristol, PA based team that is walking to fight breast cancer. I’m a sucker for a cause. Plus, the girl who asked me to do it was the first girl I ever kissed, back in a Friday night high-school dance. How could I possibly say no?

Yesterday’s sketch was a greeting to everyone to enjoy the holidays however they see fit. Today’s sketch shares the way that I prefer to celebrate the holidays. It’s one of my favorite parts of the season, in that trees with lights make me feel warm inside.
