LAWRENCE BRANCH LIBRARY RECYCLED ART CONTEST WINNERS
Lawrenceville –The Lawrence Branch of the Mercer County Library System sponsored the Trashed Art Contest to encourage our community to look at trash in a different way and create an awareness of the usefulness of garbage. Winners of the contest were: Sue Kaminski, East Windsor, Sue’s entry “Cap Fish” was made from bottle caps; Gene Dombroski, Ewing, entered “Winter Tree” made of copper wire; and John LeMasney also from Ewing, entered “Dawn, Ocean City” which was a painting on a canvas mosaic of recycled paper squares.
The contest judges were Pete Abrams, a local metal artist, Lori Anselm, a designer at TerraCycle, Ellen Brown, library director, Mercer County Library System (MCLS), Richard Cavallo, chief fiscal officer, MCLS, James Damron, branch manager, Marygrace Billek, director, Mercer County Department of Human Services, and Bill Jones, maintenance engineer, Lawrence Branch of the MCLS. Prizes were donated by the Friends of the Lawrence Library and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
