I had a very close friend ask me to do a typography study of the text-based heart that we use in chats, in the form of less than 3 (<3). Not surprisingly some fonts work far better than others for conveying a heart.

I was having a conversation with a friend today about brand as applied to personal image, and realized that if I took off my glasses and shaved my beard that no one would probably recognize me. 🙂

I’ve decided that I’m going to try to do a screencast for each sketch to better explain the process. Let’s see how far I get.
Sarah asked me for a sushi sketch today, and I do everything Sarah says, generally. I also highly recommend the documentary “Jiro dreams of Sushi” on Netflix for a great film about life, dedication, and the art of sushi.

So Rider’s Recreation Programs on Facebook announced a t-shirt design contest. I decided to put this in as an entry. I have to say, I was a little perplexed about what to do besides text because the contest didn’t have a lot of direction. Which sports are being played? Who would be wearing the shirt? The Athletes? People who buy them? When is the championship, and what is at stake? Any of those answers would have given me a bit more visual influence to go on, but as it was, they asked me to “be creative” and I tried.
