Day 134: A proposed reworking of Glyphs in #Inkscape

A proposed reworking of Glyphs in Inkscape

This is Saturday’s post. So I made this mockup to demonstrate how I think that the Glyphs dialog could be improved in Inkscape. I added it to the blueprint thread on the Inkscape development forum. This is why Open Source is better.

Day 132: Hamilton, NJ #Inkscape

Hamilton Township
Hamilton Township

This was a late revision (the final is slightly different) in a recent project where I had the privilege of helping to design and produce a trade show banner set for Hamilton Township. I used Inkscape to gather, layout, and design the panels according to client specifications, and then brought them into SketchUp to help the clients visualize what the product would look like. Thanks to Hamilton Township for a fun and challenging project!

Day 111: Night driving #Inkscape #design #illustration

Night Driving
Night Driving

I just had a wonderful visit with my friends at Brookdale Computer User’s Group: Graphics SIG, where I got to talk about Inkscape and Sketchup. On the way home, I studied the various colors, shapes and illusions of the road, and decided to share what I remembered about it. Thanks, BCUG, you always make me feel very welcome and quite appreciated.

This is another case of using the free three dimensional application from Google named Sketchup in my workflow to introduce 3d letterforms into my Inkscape sketch. I went a bit further than the last time in using color, mood, and background in order to push the forms forward a bit. Hope you liked it!
