This is a metaphor for the way I feel about they way we treat each other sometimes. If you find yourself grinding someone down to the tread, please stop. 🙂

This is a redo of an earlier sketch that just focused on the silhouette of a whale, and this time I used the word whale as a basis for the image.

Bovine made out of text

Divine Bovine made out of text by John LeMasney via lemasney.com
Bovine made out of text

Here is the latest in my text based animals series. Cow-Schmow, she’s a bovine.

‘Bovine comes from the Latin word for “cow”, though the biological family called the Bovidae actually includes not only cows and oxen but also goats, sheep, bison, and buffalo. So bovine is often used technically, when discussing “bovine diseases”, “bovine anatomy”, and so on. It can also describe a human personality, though it can be a rather unkind way to describe someone. When Hera, the wife of Zeus, is called “cow-eyed”, though, it’s definitely a compliment, and Zeus fairly melts when she turns those big bovine eyes on him.’

from “Bovine | Definition of Bovine by Merriam-Webster” at https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/bovine curated by lemasney creative. Feel free to share.

300 of 365 is a fighter in pieces #Inkscape #illustration

Fighter in pieces
Fighter in pieces

This is part two of a diptych telling a fight story. Here we have a fighter in pieces, ready to fall apart. In Inkscape I made this by creating the silhouette of the fighter, then using the bezier tool to create a shard that I duplicated and flipped on the fighter from top to bottom. I used these shards to do a path operation that cut the fighter into those shapes, which I then moved this way and that with the selector tool to make a shattered and sliced appearance.

Firm stance
Firm stance

This is part one of a diptych telling a fight story. Here we have a fighter in a firm stance, ready to defend himself. In Inkscape I made this by creating the silhouette of the fighter, then using the spraypaint tool to recreate the silhouette using exclamation points. Tomorrow, we’ll see what happened to the other guy.

Girl skating
Girl skating

This is just a simple quiet sketch of a girl skating. Even though she’s on rollerblades, the treatment is definitely intent on giving you the impression she’s on ice. Fun stuff.
