I am now co-teaching a graduate level course in the Communication track of the MA in Organizational Leadership program at Rider University. The course, COMM 563, is Digital Media Communication. In the class we focus on the issues, concepts, and problems of organizational communication using digital media. The course uses WordPress as a learning and posting platform, and participants learn how to develop effective publishing skills, integrating various digital media, and developing an audience for their brand.

January Faculty Development Days 2011

Image via Wikipedia

In January of 2011, I was able to propose and deliver three sessions for a twice-a-year event at Rider that allows for focused faculty development at Rider University. My sessions were: 10 technologies Faculty should know about, co-presented with Shaun Holland, a session on the upcoming rollout of Blackboard 9.1 at Rider, and finally, an overview of Wimba Pronto, delivered primarily by Shaun Holland.

Yes, when you use the clone tool to put your eye where your mouth was, and your mouth where your eyes were, you would call it a mixed facial orifice self-portrait. Wouldn’t you? This is a reminder that I am always looking for suggestions of photos and ideas in need of execution. When I don’t have them, I do freaky stuff like this. Apologies!

My very good friend Tim McGee asked me to bring balance to a photo of his dog, Maisy. I said I’d be happy to. Today, here’s a screencast of what I did to improve the photo in a few ways. Thanks for the opportunity, Tim!

So this is for Shaun Holland, who sometimes says Sad Panda to comment on a sad situation or person with just a touch of schadenfreude. Shaun makes me laugh all day long. This panda is not sad though, he’s just massive.

Using the technique I’ve focused on lately, and using a photo from my very good friend Sam, here is a portrait of him.
