Manual tilt shift lens effect in the GIMP by John LeMasney via 365sketches.org #blur #focus #depthoffield
In GIMP. I used two layers, the original without blur, beneath a duplicate layer with full blur. Then I applied a black to white gradient on a layer mask on the blurred layer, revealing the in-focus layer. The photo is license free from Morguefile, and not mine.

Love this! Did you do the blurring in GIMP or use a lens with a very narrow depth of field?
