Jolly Burger
Jolly Burger

The other day I was in Princeton, NJ sitting on Witherspoon and saw someone walk by with a stylized Jolly Roger but instead of a skull, it had a cupcake in its place. I was struck by its quirky sensibility, though i must say I still am not sure what it means. Death to cupcakes? Death by cupcakes? Down with sugar? I’m so sweet it’s poisonous? I’ll never know, but I loved it, and decided to make my own with a hamburger. Mine might be a warning to those with an unwatched hamburger that they should keep one hand on the bun and one hand on their sidearm when I’m around. I might just be a burger pirate.

Some fashionable prints replaced the skull with other items or made the skull look cute (pink color, heart shaped eyes, cartoon like, cupcakes etc.). So the passerby’s shirt is probably just left over from that fashion fad, or they went to Johnny Cupcakes:
