
This one is a response to Angel Bee’s 365 Request to depict my four favorite winter Olympic sports. This is my first response, as I’m a big fan of the speed and courage of these athletes. The technique is mostly just calligraphic pen and lots of strokes, using Inkscape as a pure sketching tool, but of course with editing capabilities. Keep an eye out for the other three!

On the lines that vary in thickness, were you using a pressure sensitive graphics tablet? Sorry I’m asking so many questions.
Daniel, I’m doing to this blog for the very purpose of generating questions, and that’s a great one. Yes — I used a Wacom tablet for this sketch, and thickness was determined by speed, though pressure can also be set.
