My very good friend Tim McGee asked me to bring balance to a photo of his dog, Maisy. I said I’d be happy to. Today, here’s a screencast of what I did to improve the photo in a few ways. Thanks for the opportunity, Tim!

This is yesterday’s post (for the 12th) and I’ll put up today’s a bit later. This is another image that needed repair from my friend Alma. Of particular interest was the missing bits of his shirt which was a fun challenge. I used the clone tool to do most of the repair work, as you might expect.

Almost a year ago tonight, I was thinking of something to do to improve my understanding of an open source application, further my design skills, change my brand from beer to design, and strengthen my connections to key groups of friends, like librarians. All I have to say is that if you want to know something through and through, if you want to truly make it a part of you, if you want it to soak in, do it every day and share it.
