Right now, I feel a lot of potential, a lot of tense energy about to release and surface and blossom. Can you feel it?

There are many reasons that I advocate for Free and Open Source Software, but among my top reasons is that it will never stop me from doing what I want or need to do, like so many proprietary systems do because of money, licensing or ideology.

Amy, a friend I met in Baltimore in January, said that she might like a sketch, and to keep an eye on her photos on Facebook, so I have. I saw this amazing photo of a meal she made, and thought that it would be a great start for a sketch. I love asparagus, and hers had some garlic on it. I bet the couscous had butter and oil, and the roast looked like it had black beans, onions and cilantro. I’m so gonna steal this mix.

So my new buddy at work, Paula, was talking with me today about a cool system called CPanel that allows users to create a Drupal, WordPress, and other services easily through a single interface, They’re moving away from manual LAMP stacks, and moving towards a more straightforward way of creating these services for users, which I think is a great move. I’m waiting on my account, and am desperate to get into it to start playing. She was telling me how she was experimenting and had a recoverable, but frustrating, issue with the system. 🙂 I think she secretly loves it like me, but she would might tell you otherwise right now.
