Why wouldn’t you just use the clone tool, or the duplication features, I wondered. It’s not until you try it that you realize the amazing powers of chaos that it has. The tool has really changed the way that I look at randomness in my work, because at any time, I can introduce it without the math of the tiled clones tool or the forced manual randomness of holding down space spontaneously as you drag an object about the canvas.

Here’s a simple example. With a single no fill thin stroked circle I made with the ellipse tool, I used the spraypaint tool set to make a single path with duplicates, which creates this beautiful cellular strcture that reminds me of bubbles. The release version is coming for 0.48 — when it comes out, try out this fantastic feature.

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[3,7,18,3659,1128,17,3654
1677,365,411,865
0":"post-533","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-image","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-brand","8":"category-consulting","9":"category-cv","10":"category-design-principles","11":"category-illustration","12":"category-photography","13":"category-portfolio","14":"tag-ellipse","15":"tag-graphics","16":"tag-inkscape","17":"tag-vector-based","18":"post_format-post-format-image","19":"czr-hentry

https://i0.wp.com/lemasney.com/consulting/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/20100423bubbles0.png?fit=496%2C496&ssl=1
So here's a moon rising over the hills.
