It\u2019s John at LeMasney Consulting, and I’m here today to walk you through what I love about..Convenience Stores in New Jersey.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n This series of 52 videos is a weekly look at topics I wanted to share my passion for.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n I love to share what I love about universal human kindness in a highly accessible way, and I work with people everyday to do great things together. Thanks!<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n When I was out of the country in 1998, I was visiting Europe for the first time, and upon my return, the one thing I wanted, the one thing I really deeply, culturally missed, was convenience stores. In Budapest, they had ABCs where you could get a coffee and the national sandwich: a lightly breaded chicken sandwich with cucumber. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n At a wawa, you can get the most delicious coffee, <\/span>amazing sandwiches <\/span>and stews and soups. <\/span>Candy of every variety. <\/span>A soda or juice with the most particular flavor. <\/span>A soda that has enough calories for your entire day, and fresh, sweet, crumbly donuts and fritters. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n All without actually interacting with a human, depending on the type of store. <\/span>I love the general attitude and persona of a Wawa. Quick, fresh, friendly. <\/span>I love the general utility of a quick check. Quick, fresh, friendly. <\/span>I will often reluctantly visit a 7 eleven, because I think they are a convenience store in idea, but lacking on the service and variety part. I am always a bit amazed at how 7 elevens are the national staple. <\/span>I love the voice and tone of a Sheetz. It\u2019s a wawa for the south, and it has a delicious sense of humor, great coffee, and amazingly delicious food. There are none in New Jersey. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n The computer-kiosk food ordering systems should be everywhere in every place where service is offered, restaurants, doctor\u2019s offices, building directories, campuses, classrooms, and anywhere else where a transaction can be predicted and decision tree-implemented. Convenience stores get it. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Some of the best people watching in the world, the very best scenes, are outside of a busy super wawa. <\/span>But it\u2019s more than that. In a great convenience store, there is a daily celebration of customer service. A smile, a conversation, and a lack of errors. A fairly reasonable price. A sudden deal on cupcakes. A delicious recently baked pretzel. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n For me, Wawa and Quick Chek are part of what makes New Jersey home. It\u2019s a familiar place where you can see people in your community, and get a warm delicious bite. It\u2019s part of being American, to me, this privilege. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n Thanks all for hanging out!
